ANTENATAL CLINICS
Antenatal Clinics are run by the Community Midwife who will monitor your health through pregnancy and the development of your unborn baby. Appointments for the Clinic should be made through reception. When your pregnancy has been confirmed reception will give you a maternity pack, which will give all the information you need on what to do next.

ASTHMA AND CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE CLINICS
Asthma checks and checks for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are carried out by one of our practice nurses, Jo Green, who has undergone specialist training. She provides monitoring of your condition, advice on inhaler technique and new medications.

CERVICAL SMEARS
It is very important for all women between 20 and 65 to have a cervical smear test every three years for which they will receive a recall letter. The test is carried out by the practice nurse.

CHILD HEALTH AND VACCINATIONS
Childhood vaccinations are started at 2, 3 and 4 months old and continue at intervals until the child goes to school. These vaccinations protect children from serious illness. Your child will be invited by post to attend for vaccination. If you have any concerns about the safety of vaccination, please discuss with the Health Visitor, our Child Immunisation Practice Nurse, Jenny Pullen, or one of the doctors.

CORONARY HEART DISEASE AND STROKE CLINICS
Coronary heart disease and stroke clinics are run by one of our practice nurses, Jo Green. She provides monitoring of your condition and medication, advice on risk factors and tries to help you to minimise the risk of future problems.

DIABETES CLINIC
Diabetic checks are carried out by the practice nurse, Lynda Haggie, who assesses all aspects of your diabetic care.

FAMILY PLANNING
Contraceptive services and advice are available from all of our doctors. Dr West and Dr Smith both fit "coils" within the practice.

LEG ULCER CARE
Leg ulcers are monitored and treated by our District Nurses. An appointment can be made by contacting the District Nurses on 01844 292227.

MINOR SURGERY
Dr. Sadler and Dr. West carry out some minor surgical procedures in the practice. Dr. Sadler runs a cryotherapy clinic for freezing skin lesions that do not need surgical removal. Dr. Howcutt carries out most of the joint and soft-tissue injections in the practice. Your doctor will refer you to these clinics if it is appropriate.

PODIATRY
A Podiatrist service provided by the Primary Care Trust is attached to the Medical Centre. The podiatrists see our patients and those from the surrounding area. Please enquire at reception. Once registered you can have an appointment if you are a child attending school, diabetic, pregnant or of pensionable age without being referred by your doctor.

TRAVEL ADVICE/VACCINATIONS
A Travel Clinic is held on a Wednesday morning by one of our practice nurses, Jenny Pullen. She can offer a full range of foreign travel immunisations, malaria prevention and advice. Try to make your first appointment about eight weeks before you travel in case a course of vaccinations is necessary. You will be asked to complete a travel questionnaire before the appointment to enable us to assess risks. This will ask about where you are going, what kind of transport you might use, what level of accommodation you will have and what activities you might be doing. There is a charge for some of the vaccinations and our Practice Nurse will be happy to advise you on these.
