There is still time to get your Flu jab

The NHS has made changes to the flu vaccination programme this year.  There will be 3 flu vaccines for the practice to administer to different age groups.  Therefore we have to arrange our flu clinics differently. Our vaccine stock has been ordered specifically for the numbers in each patient group and cannot be used outside of these groups.

If you are over 65 or will be by 31 March 2019

If you are aged 65 and over then you will receive the “Fluad” vaccine.  This is a new adjuvanted trivalent inactivated flu vaccine which as been shown to be more effective in the elderly at providing good protection against influenza.  We will be receiving supplies of this vaccine in 3 deliveries and will organise flu clinics specifically for patients aged 65 and over.

If you are under 65 and at risk

If you are under 65 and at risk you will receive the quadrivalent vaccine.  This offers better protection for the types of influenza that affects younger patients.

Children’s Flu clinics.  Please book at reception.

We will be holding flu vaccination sessions during the week, please ask at reception.

Carers Bucks Investors in Carers GP Standard Award

The Haddenham Medical Centre Team are delighted to have been awarded the Carers Bucks Investors in Carers GP Standard Award.

Electronic Prescription Service to your choice of pharmacy

We have a system called Electronic Prescription Service  which means we can send your prescription electronically to your choice of pharmacy.  You need to set up a nomination at your preferred pharmacy.

If you have asked us to send your prescription to JMW Vicary unless you nominate them we still have to print if and take it manually.

Therefore from 1 October 17 we will send all repeat prescription requests where the patient has asked it to be dispensed by JMW Vicary electronically.  This will be more efficient and the prescription will go direct from the GP to the pharmacy without the need to be printed off and sorted by the reception team.

Thank you.
